image-description

Overview What we accomplished.

  • Full platform migration to AWS
  • Improved scalability and performance
  • Implemented DevOps managed services

Challenge & Scope Resolving frequent platform crashes and replacing outdated tech.

A leading real estate company needed help with resolving frequent issues with their cloud platform. The company relies on a self-service, user-friendly, and customized portal to connect buyers with their range of properties. The company also offers a suite of core services, including investment real estate, sales leaseback, full-service brokerage, development, and consulting.

Due to their massive user base, an outdated application and a lack of proper on-premises scalability features, the client’s portal crashed constantly. Their antiquated engineering practices for versioning only exacerbated these setbacks and their application faced multiple issues during upgrades and new releases.

Solution Lift and Shift platform migration via Amazon Web Services.

PruTech’s engineers harnessed the cloud computing capabilities of Amazon Web Services (AWS) to solve these challenges. Specifically, the team employed the “Lift and Shift” platform migration strategy, which is the process of migrating a workload from on-premises to AWS with little to no modification. By transferring the platform to the cloud, the application gained access to all of the scalability features available in AWS.

PruTech’s team also enhanced the new application by utilizing DevOps Managed Services. These additional solutions equipped the platform with auto-scaling to spin up new servers, load balancing for handling workload spikes, instance resizing, as well as image building with the help of Amazon Machine Image services.

Result Enhanced platform performance, scalability, and uptime.

The real estate company’s new and improved application resolved their previous challenges regarding uptime and performance. New scalability features enabled the platform to remain operational even during periods of high user activity. Additionally, automated CI/CD pipelines allowed the system to seamlessly deliver software updates to users. The solution proved so successful that the first production market went live just one month after PruTech conducted the first tests on the AWS platform.

Ultimately, PruTech’s Lift and Shift service allowed the company to forget their old platform woes and resume focusing on their business.
